Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is looking for our next Sr. Enterprise Application Integration Engineer (ITP-A). In this role, you'll serve as a lead on the Enterprise Asset Management Team, working to maintain and operate our Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS). You'll also collaborate on critical analysis and development, maintaining SPU's work and asset management system with particular focus on complex integrations to critical enterprise business systems such as our financial, customer billing, and GIS systems. This is an exciting role where you'll help to develop the technology roadmap for our work and asset management applications.

In this role you will lead EAMS technology transformation and integration projects, recommend and implement technology standards, and software development best practices. Partnering with our EAMS core team, business and vendors, you'll work together to build and deliver innovative solutions to complex business problems.
There are three primary areas of focus for this role: Integration/Application Development, Requirements/Analysis, and Best Practice Guidance.
Integration/Application Development:
- Lead transformation of SPU’s work and asset management system’s integration portfolio from heavy Oracle PL/SQL package reliance to a RESTful web API based model as part of migration to containerized technology stack.
- Identify and address technical debt in the enterprise work management system integration framework (i.e. rigid legacy point to point processes and workflows prone to error).
- Design, develop, configure and support interfaces between SPU’s work and asset management system (Maximo) and another complex enterprise systems including GIS, Financial, HR, and SCADA.
- Leading a cloud transition for EAM platform and systems that underpin several enterprise products and capabilities.
Requirements/Analysis:
- Translation of business requirements into clear, concise documentation in support of scalable, robust, and flexible solution development.
- Partner and interact with user community, infrastructure teams, peer developers, and vendors to deliver system enhancements and operations support that automate and streamline business processes.
Best Practice Guidance:
- Provide knowledge sharing and transfer to peer IT support and business users. Developing end user training materials and conducting training sessions for system administrators, and application maintenance staff.
- Staying up to date on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to EAMS such as Predictive Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Digital Twins and AI.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related discipline.
OR
- Education/Experience Equivalency: Five (5) additional years of related work experience.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Information Technology professional with at least five (5) years of experience in development, support, and administration of complex enterprise business system integration.
- Experience in the use and development of RESTful Web API-based services for complex business system integration.
- Working knowledge of various data-rich business systems such as asset and work management systems, GIS, SCADA, inspection applications, customer billing, financials, and human resources (e.g. Maximo, ESRI ArcGIS, CCB, PeopleSoft Financials, WorkDay, Accela, etc.).
- Experience with database query and programming language such as PL/SQL.
- Experience developing using scripting languages such as Python, jython, JavaScript, or other scripting languages.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience with Maximo or other work and asset management system.
- Experience with IBM OpenShift or other containerized platform.
- Experience building and maintaining integration between enterprise business systems and GIS.
- Ability to conduct complex applications support research, evaluate alternatives, make sound recommendations, and prepare effective technical reports.
This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Starting November 4, 2024, City employees will have the option to work remotely two days a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.

The full salary range for this position is: $56.94 - $85.42 hourly, ($118,890.72 - $178,356.96 annually)
