Albany Medical Health System is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible thoracic surgeon to join our team. The ideal candidate should have skills and experience in surgery for both malignant and benign thoracic processes, including the full spectrum of pulmonary, esophageal, mediastinal and chest wall disease. Candidates must have experience in minimally invasive thoracic surgery (VATS) and specifically robotic expertise. The position comes with an academic appointment commensurate from experience.
Albany Medical Health System is located in northeastern New York and has the only academic health sciences center and is the largest private sector employer in the Capital Region. This role will be based both in the Albany Medical Center that incorporates the 766-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital, one of New York's largest teaching hospitals and will also cover the northern part of the Health System which includes Glens Falls Hospital and Saratoga Hospital. Albany Medical College, one of the nation's first private medical colleges, educates many of the doctors and other medical professionals that practice in the region and provides residency and continuing medical education programs.

Professional Qualifications:
- Board-certified/Board-eligible in thoracic surgery
- Assistant or Associate Professor or above
- Robotic surgery experience
- Able to provide surgical case log indicating active current experience
- Team oriented with ability to work and interact with residents, physician assistants, fellow physicians and administration, as well as provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients
