Royce Learning Center is searching for a collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, knowledge of learning differences, financial acumen, and successful professional experience in an Independent School environment to become its next Executive Director.

Mission: The Mission of Royce Learning Center is to enable children and adults with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, and literacy needs to reach their maximum potential educationally, emotionally, and socially by providing comprehensive education services. Royce Learning Center seeks to heighten public awareness of the lifelong barriers associated with such disabilities and the interventions available. The Center meets needs through its five unique programs: Chatham Academy (Grade 1-12), The Tutoring Center, Summer Programs, Adult Community & Education (ACE), The Connection Center (autistic learners), and Royce Collegiate Institute (post-grad).

Annually enrolling between 105-110 children, Royce is the only such comprehensive education facility in the Savannah, Chatham County community, attracting students from nearby counties and South Carolina. Supported financially by the larger community in a variety of ways—including tuition, donations, grants, and insurance—Royce routinely operates a balanced budget.

The Executive Director reports to a Board of Trustees and oversees a strong leadership team of administrators, including the Head of Chatham Academy, Academic Program Director, Business Manager, Development Director, and Division Coordinators. The various responsibilities and functions of the Executive Director include:

  • Aligning and implementing the strategic goals of the institution as established by the Board.
  • Overseeing facility maintenance and the organization’s human resources in accordance with policies and current regulations.
  • Promoting the Center’s financial health in concert with the Board.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, community resources, and other stakeholders in the Center.
  • Ensuring quality educational outcomes of all programs and services and maintaining the Center’s various accreditations, including Orton-Gillingham, GISA, and SAIS.
  • Representing Royce positively in the local community and regional organizations and advocating actively on behalf of the Center’s constituents.
  • Soliciting charitable contributions to the Center in various ways in concert with the Development Director and Board.

Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree is required; Ph.D or Ed.D preferred.

Projected Start Date: Summer 2025

Compensation: The salary and benefit package will be regionally competitive in relation to experience.
