Job Description
A Group Meeting Facilitator interacts with groups that need coaching to work productively as a team to reach a common goal. The facilitator guides discussions of the topics laid out in group meetings and project/taskforce initiatives agenda, with the purpose of moving the team towards a common goal.
A skilled Group Meeting Facilitator fosters collaboration and teamwork and manages conflict among team members. The ProSidian Consultant | Group Meeting Facilitator will coordinate, lead, and support all phases of team meetings to ensure progression and completion of work and supports the Global Project Lead (GPL) and Project Team. The facilitator is accountable for the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of group meetings and/or project/taskforce initiatives, culminating in the delivery of final outputs that achieve stated mission objectives.
The ProSidian Group Meeting Facilitator serves as a consultant to clients across private companies, fortune 1,000 enterprises, and government agencies of all sizes. You direct the flow and energy throughout the program period, observing participants' body language and listening carefully to what they say, drawing out those members who are not speaking, and gently moving group meetings along when a member monopolizes a conversation.
The facilitator works with groups such as business teams, advisory boards, emergency action task forces, and community organizations to solve problems and improve operations through a structured approach to strategic solutions. The facilitator serves as the process manager for overcoming obstacles to ensure effective communication.
Facilitate interaction among multi-party entities and representative bodies consisting of a balanced mix of diverse local and regional interests. Enable participative discussions and learning among group members, allowing them to express different opinions while maintaining a respectful environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordination/Logistics Processes – Support creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manage all aspects of meeting scheduling.
- Topic/Agenda Acceptance – Work with groups to clarify meeting content, objectives, and establish ground rules.
- Group Meeting Agendas – Develop agendas that achieve stated goals and objectives.
- Client Conference/Program Participation – Select appropriate methods and tools to enable participants to achieve results.
- Ongoing Course Adjustments – Consultative facilitation while working in close partnership with clients.
- Dynamic Process Interactions – Create environments that allow civil dialogue and input from all participants.
- Leadership Coaching/Support Initiatives – Ensure successful implementation of primary objectives through facilitation.
- Follow-Up Deliverables – Improve contributions from meeting participants and maintain task logs.
- Post-Event Analysis – Prepare a complete report describing the outcomes of group meetings.
- Public Involvement And Communications – Foster collaboration and communication through effective maintenance of knowledge repositories.
- Document Retention – Maintain a library as a repository of related information.
- Program Recommendations Implementation – Help participants reach decisions and accomplish goals.
- Group Meeting Logistics – Lead and support the development of meeting agendas and logistics.
- Quality Control/Quality Assurance – Facilitate/manage meetings towards achieving desired outcomes.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited school and/or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.
- Minimum of eight years' experience working with senior management.
- Experience in facilitation of strategic planning and group decision-making meetings.
- Project management experience is required.
- Ability to foster collaboration and communication.
- Proficiency in capturing meeting discussions and summarizing information.
- Combination of education and experience that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Comfortable working with group dynamics while managing meetings.
- Demonstrated ability in instruction and staff development.
- Effective meeting leadership skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Experience in quality assurance or quality control responsibilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
- Highly organized, independently motivated leader.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Valid passport required, and ability to travel as required.
