The Senior HR Training Specialist will design, facilitate, and evaluate professional development training for 1800 employees. This position will work closely with the Training Unit Manager and Training Principal to help run leadership training programs. Duties include online and in-person training facilitation (typically for classes of approximately 30 employees), training design, briefing external trainers on MWD’s culture, and conducting needs assessments with management to determine training and coaching opportunities. Administrative duties include handling training logistics (booking rooms, managing external vendor contracts, collecting, and analyzing evaluation data, etc.), overseeing MWD’s Mentoring Program, and processing employees’ tuition reimbursement submissions. This position also helps to support training content with e-learning reinforcement (LinkedIn Learning offerings).
This classification performs work that requires maintaining confidentiality and is routinely privy to matters that either involves confidential information, sensitive personnel issues, or exposure to confidential and sensitive strategic corporate information.
Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday with every other Friday off.
Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.
Travel: This position will require travel to various District facilities throughout the service area, sometimes requiring overnight stay in the project area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience.
Relevant experience is defined as: A combination of experience performing training administrative duties, designing, facilitating and/or analyzing professional development training.
