The Evening Senior Digital Producer will play a key role in the digital production, management, and publication of news content. This position requires a blend of editorial expertise with a deep understanding of digital publishing platforms, SEO, and AI tools to maximize reach and engagement. The successful candidate will oversee content deployment during the evening, ensuring the site’s functionality and content accuracy are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee content management systems (CMS), including WordPress, for real-time updates. Ensure seamless integration of multimedia elements such as videos, interactive graphics, and AI-driven features.
• Meticulously and critically proofread and edit news content to align with brand mission, AP style, and sound editorial judgment.
• Provide feedback to colleagues in a helpful and professional manner.
• Manage the site’s technical SEO. Ensure all content is optimized for search engines by using metadata, alt tags, and other SEO strategies, and maintain proper site architecture for performance and discoverability.
• Monitor real-time site analytics to track performance and audience engagement. Use data insights to inform content placement, optimize user experience, and boost engagement.
• Respond swiftly to technical issues, including broken links or CMS errors. Ensure that the site remains fast, secure, and accessible for all users.
• Ensure videos are published with proper encoding, captions, and content.
• Work with third-party APIs to pull in relevant data or multimedia, ensuring proper integration into the CMS.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, computer science, or a related field.
• Mastery of AP style, editing for clarity and grammar and editorial fairness.
• 5+ years of experience in digital production, with strong technical expertise in content management systems, particularly WordPress.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for troubleshooting and minor site customizations (Preferred)
• Expertise in SEO, including tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, or Yoast.
• Strong familiarity with web performance tools to monitor and optimize user experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues swiftly.
