Founded in 1987, our client is an award-winning NYC firm that evaluates building systems and designs, administers programs for repair, upgrade, restoration, and new construction for residential, commercial, retail, and institutional properties. The broad range of expertise includes exterior repair and roof replacement; facade inspection safety; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; structural engineering; retail and commercial buildouts; building condition surveys; energy audits, and historic restoration.
Description:
Immediate need for highly motivated technical professionals to assist with project management on a variety of exciting projects involving Building Envelope, exterior, Facade, LL11, FISP, Historic Preservation, etc..
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall technical management and support on new facade and roofing opportunities from proposal preparation through final acceptance from the client.
- Establish project objectives, budgets, procedures, and standards.
- Examine building exterior envelopes (visually and hands-on), develop work scope, and provide budget objectives.
- Prepare construction docs and details to address all deficiencies in accordance with DOB, and LPC requirements.
- Identify new work opportunities and inform client services of potential projects.
- Conduct contractor bid solicitations.
- Perform construction observations and special inspections and issue site visit reports.
- Create and maintain project schedules, issue change orders, and oversee completion of project close-outs, including permit signoffs.
- Actively monitor project budgets.
Job Requirements:
- 5 + years of experience in building exterior envelopes and subsequently designing and administering exterior repair/roofing projects.
- Must be well-versed in all facets of building exterior envelope, weatherproofing, masonry repair, historic preservation, and roofing projects, as well as FISP / LL11 Inspections and reports
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated mastery in estimating, cost control, construction observation, and developing client relationships.
- Must have New York project experience.
- Professional Engineering License desired but NOT required.
Education:
Bachelors of Structural Engineering and/or Architecture and/or Civil Engineering
