We are looking for a motivated and tech-savvy individual to fill our organization’s Level I Human Resource Specialist position. The Human Resource Specialist provides administrative support to several critical human resources functions such as benefits administration, performance management tools, onboarding, employee record system, recruiting, and engagement. This person is key in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in administering employee benefit programs and conducting open enrollment.
- Assist in maintaining employee handbooks which includes creating and updating policy frequently with the changing laws.
- Maintain performance management system.
- Process new employee onboarding and conduct new employee orientations.
- Use human resources management system software to prepare and maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions.
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
- Communicate with vendors that provide supplemental HR services.
- Answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
- Review timesheets and ensure timely submission.
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks to support HR operations and projects.
Qualification & Required Skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organization.
- Possess attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-driven, team environment.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or human resource management
- Minimum 1-year previous work experience in a related field
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams
The salary range for this position is $23 – $28 per hour.
