Engineering Drafter II – Wooster, OH - Manufacturing

This organization's double-digit growth necessitates a strong professional Drafting Engineer , supporting their Proprietary products. This role, reporting to the Engineering Manager, is responsible for supporting the engineering function, generating/drafting architectural and product prints, BOM review and development, and day-to-day engineering support.
Essential Functions:
- Create manufacturing drawings of assemblies and models including GD&T and B.O.M. information.
- Interpreting 2D drawings and layouts for migration into a 3D environment
- Communicate with customers and team members regarding project scope, change requests, and milestone completions.
- Track project progress using sources available to ensure project initiatives are met.
- Make decisions concerning personal time management and task prioritization to deliver quality service, on time and under budget.
- Plans mechanical drawings by reviewing sketches, descriptions, specifications, and supporting documents, and conferring with the sales team and customers.
- LEAN thinker that's customer-centric with a process-driven mindset that involves all stakeholders to deliver process improvements that safely move the needle.
- Align to and support capital equipment programs for production and information systems. Ensure implementation of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Review and generate BOM's for existing and new products within product portfolio.

- Ability to check manufacturing drawings to determine proper fit and function, correctness, and completeness of information.
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude, good reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Application of lean/continuous improvement tools & techniques in low volume high-value production/manufacturing environment
- Top-tier analytical skills and ability to translate data and trends into solutions.
- Superb verbal and written communication and presentation skills with a keen ability to coordinate and interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.

Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Engineering or Engineering technology preferred, Bachelor's degree in Engineering desired
- 3+ years experience in Mechanical Engineering utilizing one or more 3D CAD packages such as OnShape, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, Solid Edge, DraftSight, etc.
- Experience working within the manufacturing industry, supporting engineering operations in a LEAN environment
- ASQ certifications CQE, or CRE preferred
- GD&T experience preferred
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, advanced Excel skills desired
