What this job involves:

The Lab Equipment Maintenance Scheduler/Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all maintenance, calibrations, and repairs of Lab Equipment in a Research and Development setting. Collaborate with the Utilities/Facilities Team to ensure all Lab operations affecting maintenance activities are coordinated to minimize downtime.

What is your day to day?

  • Schedule and coordinate routine and non-routine maintenance, repairs ensuring compliance and budget requirements are met, this includes shutdowns.
  • Be an advocate for standardizing maintenance with LEAN concepts and strategies to improve equipment uptime, improve quality, and drive down costs.
  • Ensure the accuracy of repetitive job plans and routine calibrations and maintenance in accordance with all approved business process documentation.
  • Work with Lab Equipment Service Providers to ensure Service Contracts are optimized for standard maintenance and value.
  • Obtain vendor quotes and submit work authorizations.
  • Collaborate with Lab Users to ensure equipment availability and minimal interruption to R&D operations.
  • Stay aligned with changes in R&D schedules that provide a window for execution of planned opportunistic work.
  • Ensure that requested maintenance activities are in compliance with all site safety/quality policies and procedures.
  • Manage some aspects of CMMS Maintenance Data in Blue Mountain RAM.
  • Maintain CMMS data integrity and perform data corrections and updates to associated spares, maintenance tasks, costs, and labor when required.
  • Serve as Lead for Lab Equipment to support any Facility Maintenance Shutdowns.
  • Work overtime or temporarily modify shift schedule to support Life Sciences R&D Operations as needed.

Desired experience and technical skills:

Required:

  • 2-4 years of relevant Lab Equipment maintenance experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry or relevant comparable background.
  • Experience with planning or coordinating maintenance activities and calibration activities in a Life Sciences facility.
  • Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Calibration Management Program, preferably with Blue Mountain RAM and Excel, Smartsheet, and MS Project.
  • Experience in Business Process Management, Lean Production Systems, and Document Control.
  • Read and interpret construction, engineering P&ID, and schematic drawings.

Thorough knowledge of instrumentation maintenance, work order planning, and asset management Best Practices.

Estimated total compensation for this position: 70,013.00 – 77,014.00 USD per year.
