Job DescriptionTexas State Technical College invites applications for the role of Guest Services Representative at our Visitor Center. This position is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere and providing a positive first impression for all guests. Essential FunctionsVisitor Reception and Interaction-
Greet every visitor with a smile and a warm welcome.
Acknowledge and greet every employee and familiar visitors by name to foster a friendly environment.
Offer visitors and staff assistance with directions or general inquiries, prioritizing visitors' needs.
Express gratitude to every visitor at departure, emphasizing our eagerness to welcome them back.

Efficiently handle the check-in process for scheduled appointments using a CRM, ensuring all visitor details are accurately captured.
Be a resource for general information about the college including programs offered, admissions and enrollment, locations of building and services, and points of contact.
Manage the Visitor Center calendar to keep track of both appointments and walk-ins.

Conduct opening and closing procedures daily, ensuring the Visitor Center is prepared for guests and secured at the end of the day.
Conduct visual inventory checks and restock necessary items as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of public spaces and restrooms.
Monitor and update digital display screens and ensure all devices are charged and operational.

Direct visitors to appropriate floors or specific locations within the building, preferably walking them to their destinations.
Encourage visitors to enjoy the beverages and other accommodations while they wait.
Assist with hands-on demonstrations and compelling information about TSTC's facilities and programs.
Engage visitors in interactive areas and encourage participation in exhibits.
Conduct visitor satisfaction surveys and gather anecdotal information on guest experience to help drive continuous improvement for the visitor center.

Assist Admissions Advisors and collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Maintain active communication with the team, other departments and individuals through group chats.
Offer support during events and manage any special needs or requests from visitors.

Learn and provide tutorials for various stations, such as VR headsets and auditorium equipment.
Take photographs of visitors at designated stations for social media purposes and coordinate with the Communication & Creative Services team.
Prepare and serve refreshments like cookies as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or vocational training preferred.
Proven experience in customer service or hospitality, especially in an educational or high-traffic setting.
Proficiency in using digital systems such as a CRM and Google Suite for visitor management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with diverse audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
