The Forklift Operator operates Power Industrial Trucks or other tractors equipped to move materials around a warehouse (from receiving lanes to material storage areas, production staging lanes, and into the production plant). Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, bailers, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels.Categorize, grade, and store materials per a Kanban system for lean manufacturing and ease of organization.Perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, or replacing liquefied-petroleum tank.Signal other operators inside tight clearance constraints to level, load, or unload.Deconstruct plastic bales on a production line to its base elements, by all contamination deemed inappropriate by the quality department.Maintain continual flow of material on the production like, by working efficiently and effectively.Maintain an open line of communication with the quality controls department on any forms of excess contamination (color, and non-plastic items).Maintain cleanliness controls of your workstation, material bags used for segregation of discarded materials, and items ejected during the optical sorting process.Preferred Skills:Be able to work long periods of time on your feet with minimum breaks.Must be able to communicate with others and teammates.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Must demonstrate high levels of attention to detail and situational awareness of your workstation.Able to lift 20lbs of weight, perform repetitive work tasks with your hands, and work in a non-climate-controlled environment.Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.Qualifications and Requirements:High School Diploma and at least 5 years of forklift driver experience, or material movement experience with other types of Power Industrial Trucks (PITs).Have received previous training by OSHA standards for PITs under 29CFR1910.178 through previous employment, or any other formal training on forklift operators.Must be able to pass a pre-hire driving assessment given to test operational knowledge of PITs.
