Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for guiding and developing the methodologies needed to create and sustain an unforgettable digital experience for The Villages. This position helps create our online and social interaction strategies; helping to continually enhance The Villages’ relationship-building endeavors through these platforms. This role provides important direction for the implementation of new digital initiatives such as company websites, mobile applications, customer relationship management systems, and related online advertising platforms and technologies. This position oversees the daily operations of our digital and social media teams and is a vital member of The Villages Marketing Department. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a consistent digital customer experience attuned with The Villages brand and culture.
  • Identify gaps and implement proven solutions for the customer’s online journey.
  • Analyze effectiveness of online and social efforts; make recommendations for improvements.
  • Set and deliver online tracking goals; preparing and presenting reporting and progress updates as requested.
  • Oversee the daily operations of The Villages digital and social marketing team including but not limited to our Web Coordinator, Social Media Team, Digital Graphic Designers, Digital Editors, Content Curators, etc.
  • Manage digital projects in liaison with Technology Solutions Group (TSG).
  • Work in tandem with our Media Team on customer acquisition and campaign promotion.
  • Research ways to improve The Villages’ owned websites, The Villages App and other technologies not yet developed.
  • Establish and enhance The Villages online presence in compliance with current and future regulations.
  • Identify and implement best practices and explore new methodologies in digital marketing to meet the company’s objectives for customer engagement, sales support needs and brand insistence and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with in-house marketing designer(s) and developer(s) and manages outsourced website and application designers and developers as needed.
  • Measure and track responses to changes in programming using analytic software (ex: Google Analytics) and other tools; creating analysis reports, KPIs and dashboards that communicate the overall digital strategy success, performance, and impact on the marketing objectives.
  • Utilize office computer and office equipment along with a host of other software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, content management tools like WordPress, project management tools like Workfront, email marketing tools, and other digital marketing platforms.
  • Attend special meetings, educational sessions and assist leadership in ongoing training of team members as asked.
  • Assist the Digital Team in their overall initiative as requested.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four (4) year college or technical school; or ten (10) years related digital marketing and/or website management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in marketing, communications, advertising, or related fields preferred.
  • This position requires strong analytical and project management skills, enthusiasm for The Villages and all it has to offer, and demonstrable knowledge with SEO, SEM, CRM software and Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Experience monitoring and tracking online advertising through tools like Google Analytics and Google AdWords. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, web design technologies, HTML, and fundamentals of SEO (page titles, meta-tags, headers, URL structure, link anchors, as well as search engine ranking algorithms).
  • Must be able to communicate orally confidently and effectively, in writing and electronically.
