Entry-level Medical Assistant

Summary

• Under supervision, responsible for learning and assisting with patient care and documentation.
• Coordinates care, orders supplies, and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Provides patient education, performs general office duties, and maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in Apprenticeship requirements while maintaining adequate performance for all coursework and practicum sessions.
• Performs patient assessment, pre-examination procedures, and medication reconciliation.
• Prepares and cleans patient area, sets up equipment, and facilitates room set up after a procedure.
• May perform general office duties, filing insurance forms, and ordering supplies.

Certifications and Licensures

• BLS - Basic Life Support Required Equivalent Experience
• MA CERT - Medical Assistant Preferred Equivalent Experience

Required Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Other Information

• Excellent interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups.
• Knowledge of medical office policies and procedures as normally acquired through working in the health care system.
• Exposure to stressful situations and ability to wear personal protective equipment.
