Who You’ll Work With

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to align product strategy with business goals. Collaboration will be key as you partner with engineering teams to translate customer requirements into technical specifications. Additionally, you will collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and gather feedback, and work alongside marketing teams to develop effective product positioning and go-to-market strategies.

Your project management and organizational skills come to you naturally allowing you to effectively prioritize responsibilities and partners. Your outstanding communication and presentation abilities enable you to effectively convey sophisticated technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners. You are a collaborative individual, capable of working cross-functionally and influencing without direct authority.

As an Engineering Product Manager in the Data Center business unit at Cisco Systems, you will play a key role in driving innovation and success in our product portfolio. This is a high-impact position that requires a deep understanding of data center technologies, market trends, and a passion for delivering solutions that exceed customer expectations.

What You’ll Do

  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy, aligning it with the broader business goals and market demands.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify customer needs, competitive landscapes, and emerging trends in data center management.
  • Roadmap management: Define and maintain the product roadmap, prioritizing features and improvements based on customer feedback and market opportunities.
  • Feature Release management: Coordinate product releases, including defining release goals, feature sets, and release schedules.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development, on-time delivery, and quality assurance.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to gather feedback, validate product requirements, and build strong customer relationships.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering), and at least 2-5 years of experience in product management or related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of data center technologies, networking, and cloud computing.
  • Prior experience in the data center industry, particularly in leading data center products and solutions with in-depth knowledge of data center technologies, industry trends, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, dynamic environment.
  • Openness and willingness to learn as a great teammate.
  • Critical thinking and a customer-centric attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Masters or equivalent experience in Computer Science related field.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to run multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of software development and familiarity with software development tools and processes.
  • Proficient communication and presentation abilities, capable of optimally conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Certification in product management or related fields.
