A well-established law firm with offices in the San Fernando Valley and Encino is seeking an exceptional Legal Assistant to support either our Employment Law or Personal Injury Practice Group. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of legal administrative experience in either employment law or personal injury. This is a full-time position requiring a proactive, organized individual capable of managing clerical and legal tasks while supporting attorneys with case management and client communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys in either the Employment Law (San Fernando Valley) or Personal Injury (Encino) practice areas
  • Prepare legal documents such as complaints, answers, discovery, motions, agreements, and other case filings
  • Conduct research, gather case information, and assist in trial preparation tailored to the specific practice area
  • Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing mail, and drafting letters
  • Maintain organized paper and electronic legal files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date
  • Manage client communication, including in-person interactions, phone calls, and email correspondence
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances for attorneys
  • File documents with courts and government agencies, and communicate with court officials and opposing counsel as needed
  • Assist with preparation for arbitrations, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • For Personal Injury: Assist with intake, open claims, handle property damage, coordinate medical care, and obtain client records


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of legal administrative experience in either employment law or personal injury
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe; experience with legal software such as ProLaw, Dragon, or Speech Exec is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with court filing procedures and processes
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required
