JOB DESCRIPTION: Currently seeking a Structural Detailer with experience detailing structural steel and miscellaneous metal products. The ideal candidate will be able to create detailed fabrication drawings for structural steel components from architectural and structural design plans. Experience using 2D and 3D designing software is highly preferred. Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of detailing design standards and guidelines for AISC steel construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed structural steel shop drawings using CAD software.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Review and interpret design documents and engineering plans.
- Ensure that all drawings meet local codes and regulations.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies in project details.
- Prepare material lists and assist with quantity takeoffs.
- Maintain organized records of drawings and project documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Detailer or in a similar role.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla Structures).
- Strong understanding of structural steel design principles and detailing standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
