Overview
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to work on our Backend Platform that powers our Consumer Mobile App. Our app is currently built using React Native, Typescript, Node.js, Micro Services, GQL, and hosted on AWS. We use AWS Services such as Amplify, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SQS, and Cognito.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain backend microservices. Ensure that the services can adapt to the evolving needs of Credit Genie products.
- Leverage various AWS services to build backend services that are highly reliable (99.99% uptime) and with low latency.
- Build monitors and alerts for the backend services to identify and mitigate production incidents early.
- Work with stakeholders from product, marketing, etc. on initiatives aligning with our KPIs and business priorities.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Participate in standard engineering practices such as code reviews, standups, planning meetings, and product/technology demos.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential to enhance the Credit Genie product suite and maintain our competitive edge.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (Node.js/Typescript, Javascript, Go, Python, Java, C++).
- Experience in building backend services that are deployed on AWS (or other cloud services).
- Experienced with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
- Entrepreneurial spirit. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure.
- Technical leadership experience in payment processing systems. Understanding of global payment systems, including legal, security, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Nice to Haves
- Experience working on personal finance management (PFM) products and/or consumer apps with 1M+ active users.
- Experience in payments processing.
- Familiarity with consumer credit risk and the customer life cycle.
