Salary: $125,000 - 135,000/year

The HR Director will lead the human resources department, overseeing all aspects of HR management including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and staff development. This role requires a strategic thinker who can foster a positive organizational culture and support the growth and development of our staff. The HR Director will work closely with the Executive Director and other leadership team members to align HR strategies with the organization's mission and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Provide leadership on all HR matters, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and organizational development.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviews.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand hiring needs and ensure timely staffing.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and provide guidance on conflict resolution.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and team-building activities.
  • Design and implement performance management systems that support employee development and organizational goals.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance evaluation and feedback processes.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs for staff.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop HR teams and drive organizational change.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
