POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Clinic Manager, the Behavioral Health Clinical Lead will provide clinical oversight for the Outpatient Behavioral Health department and will support the Clinic Manager with overall operations to include regulatory compliance and staff development.
The Clinical Lead is responsible to ensure clinicians are trained and competent in the required clinical skills performed by licensed clinicians in clinical settings.
The Behavioral Health Clinical Lead provides quality, organized psychotherapy and social services for clients, with special emphasis on treatment and discharge planning. The Lead works with the Clinic Manager to ensure that clinic practices align with current regulations and standards for the provision of behavioral health.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education
- Master's degree in a mental health field from an accredited graduate school or a degree that supports an alternative acceptable licensure.
- CPC, LMFT, or LCSW complete, unrestricted licensure.
- Current approved State of Nevada Clinical Supervisor.
- Current CPR Certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification (or able to obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Ability to be credentialed with all CVH payers within 6 months of hire.
- Three (3) years of clinical experience within a behavioral health program providing individual, group and family therapy, including crisis intervention/management.
- Outpatient clinic and/or IOP experience preferred.
- Must meet any applicable state certification standards.
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of de-escalation, negotiation, communication (verbal and written), conflict resolution, interdisciplinary collaboration, care/case management, creative problem solving, and critical thinking.
- Knowledge of community mental health resources, Medicare/Medicaid practices, and insurance requirements as they relate to continuing care.
- The Clinical Lead is responsible to stay current regarding changes in regulations and scope of practice.
- Knowledge of outpatient/inpatient behavioral health services, including community and organizational resources and client care process.
- Knowledge of medications commonly used in mental health and familiarity with medical terminology and conditions as these impact treatment and discharge needs.
- Basic knowledge of quality improvement/utilization management relating to third-party payers.
- Knowledge of effective individual and team communication techniques.
- Knowledge of corporate compliance practices.
Client Care
- Assess clients to develop individualized plan for care, provide treatment, evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, and facilitate discharge planning/aftercare.
- Gather information from various sources to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of client's individualized plan related to their condition(s), presentation/participation within the program, and reaching outcomes and goals.
- Manage time and caseload effectively. Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients, ensure confidentiality is maintained, and adhere to all local, state, and federal privacy laws related to the practice of mental health and substance abuse.
- Conduct support groups (both internal and external) as requested.
- Communicate regularly with the Clinic Manager to ensure clinical issues are addressed appropriately to meet the needs of clinicians and clients.
- The Clinical Lead will demonstrate professional/ethical behavior and support the philosophy of the Behavioral Health department, as well as CVH at all times.
- Supervise interns, both master's student level and post-graduate level, providing weekly supervision meetings to each intern. May be assigned up to three (3) interns, as needed.
- Maintain current training program for mental health clinicians within the Behavioral Health department.
- Responsible for timely completion and submission of intern status reports and documentation to state licensing board or the intern's academic institution.
- Train interns on documentation requirements and best practices. Review intern documentation to ensure it meets regulatory compliance standards and clinical appropriateness.
- Assist with training of new clinicians for documentation, clinic practices, and ethical/professional standards.
- Facilitate monthly clinical supervision meetings with all Behavioral Health department staff and document at a level appropriate to meet insurance/regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate clinical trainings for licensed clinicians, and coordinate clinical presentations for ongoing training as needed.
- Serve as a clinical resource for all staff regarding clinical functions specific to the provision of outpatient behavioral health services.
- Maintain OPBH Clinic status as approved State of Nevada site for clinical internships.
- Participate in regular treatment team meetings and clinical supervision.
- Maintain required Continuing Education (CEU) connected to state license.
- Represent the program at educational meetings as requested by management.
- Work cooperatively with the Director and Clinic Manager to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including state licensure requirements.
- Ensure annual training for behavioral health competencies is completed with all staff (risk assessment, restraint, abuse reporting, etc.).
- Assist with Behavioral Health department policy updates as needed.
- Coordinate with the Medical Director to assist in the process of determining high risk/high need clients and ensuring the appropriate provision of services or referrals are completed.
