Overview of Student - Program and Publication Specialist
The Office of Student Life has immediate openings for student staff: Get paid for helping PNW students live their best student lives through various programming events and activities. Student Life Assistants will help to envision, plan, promote, and execute various programming events and activities, as well as provide help and support for student organizations across Hammond and Westville campuses.
Student Life Assistants will typically work 10-20 hours per week depending on activities and the needs of the department. Some evening and weekend shifts will be necessary. Students from all majors and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Student Life Assistants earn $10.00 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities
Program implementation
  • Help plan small scale programs- roundtables, discussions, facilitate conversations on various topics that they research and design outlines for
    • Use information from the OSL Programming Model
    • Assist with large scale programming for the Office of Student Life
    • Create Feedback Forms for Events
Management of Publications, Marketing Materials and Social Media
  • Creating Marketing Materials for Events
  • Placing events on MyPNWLife Events tab
  • Constructing Social Media posts before and after events.
Management of the Student Life Desk
  • Answering the Front Desk Phone and directing Phone Calls where needed
  • Manage Student Life Storage spaces, (CLO Closet 1 and Closet 2, SULB 324H and SULB 324B)
  • Manage Games Checkout
  • Manage printer paper
  • Manage Mane Zone
  • Manage Kitchen
  • Manage Mane Zone Occupancy Count Hourly and record in binder (Information placed in the EOY Report)
  • Manage Incoming and Outgoing Mail for Office of Student Life
  • Manage Student Life Access Cards
  • Help Students with questions regarding events
  • Help students with questions regarding Registered Student Organization Events
  • Assist GA in tasks as assigned
Events Management
  • Step up
  • Tear Down
  • Check-in
  • Taking Event Photos
Education
  • Good academic and Judicial standing with PNW.
Experience
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, time management and organization skills, basic computer and customer service skills, and a positive attitude.
