DESCRIPTION

The Senior Project Manager position is to manage Balers, Compactors and Trash Corrals for Walgreens. Candidate will need at least 5 years experience and have strong technical familiarity with the different types and manufacturers of the equipment for baling and compacting. Good communication skills, experience working with manufacturers, and being computer/software capable are also requirements for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and manage project development and program management from beginning to end.
  • Chair meetings, develop and maintain master project budgets and timelines for each project and project phase to ensure overall project objectives and Walgreens needs are met.
  • Communicate clearly/adequately at all levels within Walgreens.
  • Provide program management for multiple sites and states.
  • Manage every aspect of the development process including consultants, general contractors, vendors, specialty contractors, budgets, internal departments, and developers.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Oversee all due diligence functions.
  • Budget development, forecasting, and management.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to Walgreens’s needs.
  • Act as the primary senior level contact with Walgreens throughout the duration of the program.
  • Guide the Walgreens team through the design implementation process including conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documentation and signoff.
  • Develop procedures for distribution, receipt, opening, levelling and award of projects and services.
  • Facilitate initiation of all critical project meetings and coordination exercises with internal staff, key stakeholders and external users to ensure responsibilities are efficiently, accurately, and effectively communicated and understood by all concerned.
  • Resolve high level conflicts by making broad decisions, or negotiating with affected senior management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree, or similar experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of comprehensive Project Management experience; 5 years retail/building/development/construction project management experience a must.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial retail refuse and recycling with experience managing baling and compacting equipment.
  • Ability to analyze current refuse and recycling market data to find strategic approaches to solutions to present to Walgreens.
  • Proven experience managing in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to regularly communicate analyzed data to Walgreens and team to achieve project goals.
  • Experience with full project life cycle from planning through facilities maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and space planning concepts.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level within Walgreens as well as external team members (architects, contractors, Walgreens’s representatives, etc.).
  • Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to budgeting, scheduling, submittals, change orders.
  • Fully competent at managing all types/sizes of projects.
  • Extensive experience in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel, preferred.
  • Adept at the development of schedule, cost, and risk management strategies.
  • PMP or LEED certification, preferred.
  • Remote role with some travel for meetings, vendor visits and store walks.
