Job Summary: The Tool & Die maker is responsible for designing a wide variety of tools consistent with standard tool configuration, including cutting and forming tools.
Duties Include:

• Makes new and repairs existing tools and fixtures by performing all operations necessary to construct, develop, alter, fit, align, adjust, calibrate and repair tooling, special machines and equipment.
• Works with engineers, and purchasing department to create purchasing requisitions for components and dies.
• Works with maintenance personnel during the construction of special machines and equipment or stamping tool builds to account for correct maintenance and repair of those machines and tools.
• Capable of supplying sketches to engineering, to enable drawings to be made of tooling or new special machines and equipment.
• Must be capable of operating all tool room machines and equipment.
• Must be capable of independently producing tools from provided tool drawings
• Must be capable of on-site disassemble & reassembly procedures
• Communicates with tool designers, engineers, internal and external customers.

Education and/or Experience:

• Previous experience working as a Tool & Die maker required
• In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses
• Proficient in CAD. Experience in SolidWorks preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to create, read, and interpret blueprints and design schematics
• Extensive experience with metalworking tools including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes.
• Other duties as assigned.
