LG Electronics North America Innovation Center (“LG NOVA”)
LG Electronics recently established North America Innovation Center (“LG NOVA”) in Santa Clara, California, USA., with an ambitious vision to become the nerve center of global innovation. Aiming to create the future of LG with the focus on disruptive and exponential growth, LG NOVA works with global corporations, startups, governments, and technology stakeholders to create new businesses, establish strategic partnerships, and develop a broad ecosystem using the process of “outside-in” innovation.

What You’ll Do:
As a Strategy and Operations Specialist or Manager (depending on experience level), you will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business problems and identify opportunities from strategy to execution. Professional skills and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  1. Build and revise plans for center’s innovation programs and processes based on the “outside-in” approach.
  2. Propose and update strategies for developing global innovation and business ecosystem led by LG, creating new businesses and partnerships in the global ecosystem, and turning the opportunities into tangible business outcomes.
  3. Support NAIC internal stakeholders including Incubation, Ecosystem, and Strategic Partnership teams to make a pitch to the internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Support NIAC internal stakeholders and teams on operation and execution of their objectives.
  5. Keep track of collaboration projects in the ecosystem, continuously document their progress, and provide analyses.
  6. Support developing C-exec reports and executive presentation materials on LG NOVA activities.
  7. Work with internal stakeholders and teams to track integration/collaboration processes while driving transparency and accountability with project and program management tools.
  8. Refine project and program management tools with best practices and lessons learned on an ongoing basis.
  9. Communicate with internal and external partners on various operation issues.
  10. Support the team on NAIC budget planning/management.
  11. Confidential information translation and/or report generation in both Korean and English to support communication between LG HQ and LG NOVA. (if candidate is bilingual)
  12. Provide operational dashboards and weekly status reports with project progress, resource allocation and communication status.
  13. Identify and solve technology-related business problems that lead to strategic insights.
  14. Deliver effective presentations and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders, effectively conveying technology and market opportunities to drive changes to our innovation.
  15. Develop the agenda and conduct management meetings to communicate and resolve operational issues showcase outstanding technology developments.

What We Would Like You to Have:
• BS in engineering, business/economics, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in a combination of engineering, business development, innovation, corporate strategy, management consulting, and/or product management roles at F500, cutting edge start-ups and/or consulting firms.
• Ability to be independent and a self-starter, willing to offer help even when not directly asked.
• Tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work in a fast-changing environment.
• Ability to prioritize own workload and adhere to important deadlines.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially around Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including ability to create and communicate professional presentations.
• Experience in designing and execution of new business creation processes leveraging multi-stakeholder innovation ecosystem and partnerships.
• Understanding of open and outside-in innovation, and challenge programs.
• Understanding of global innovation ecosystem development process.
• Experience in designing and managing multi-stakeholder projects is a plus.
• Experience coordinating with multiple third parties or internal teams to complete a project.
• Excellent documentation skill.
• Experience interfacing with clients, boards of directors, and other senior decision-makers or other internal/external stakeholders.
• Fluency in Korean is preferred but not required: excellent written and oral communication skills and a confident and clear communication style.
