Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Senior Structural Engineer in the Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL area.

This is a full-time direct opportunity. Potential remote/hybrid opportunity with occasional travel to office.

Requirements:

  1. B.S. or M.S in Structural Engineering or related fields (Required)
  2. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience (Required)
  3. An Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) License (Required)
  4. Experience in structural engineering standards, codes, concepts, design criteria and procedures within the structural engineering industry
  5. The ability to exercise precise engineering judgment
  6. Strong computer skills for various software programs for structural analysis, preparation of plans, specifications, reports and other project deliverables
  7. Excellent communication skills and ability to write technical reports
  8. The ability to develop stellar relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction
  9. The ability to effectively present recommendations and results

Responsibilities:

  1. Advise engineering team and perform engineering computations to analyze and design structural members to ensure applicability with the necessary codes.
  2. Develop design concepts and alternatives, evaluate and study, establish design criteria, and recommend solutions.
  3. Perform inspections and investigations of structures including bridges, buildings and earth retaining structures.
  4. Approve alternative methods for construction procedures or changes in the field.
  5. Develop and meet project requirements for schedule, budget and construction cost estimates.
  6. Prepare proposals for new work, and develop project scope, schedule and budget.
  7. Interact with clients and represent the company.
  8. Provide mentorship and training to structural staff.
  9. Oversee and coordinate the technical/structural aspects of the project.
  10. Advise and oversee the engineering team in preparing design calculations, cost estimates, and perform field visits as necessary.
  11. Advise and oversee the engineering team in preparing structural engineering contract documents including plans, specifications, cost estimates and other deliverables.
  12. Coordinate with other disciplines and designers, to reach agreement about designs and to achieve project goals.
  13. Conduct Quality Control/Quality Assurance on projects.
  14. Perform other duties as required by Department Managers and Leadership.
