The Business Development Associate (BDA) will develop and maintain relationships that will produce profitable like-kind exchange business
Responsibilities:
Market, sell and promote Brookline Bancorp 1031 Exchange Services in Brookline Bank, Bank Rhode Island and PCSB markets

  • Develop and execute sales and business development plans
  • Pursue business from individual and entities who are likely to engage tax deferred exchange transactions or can serve as a source of referrals; primary emphasis will be on attorneys, CPAs, Real Estate Brokers and Financial Planners
  • Seek out and provide lectures and seminars on the topic of tax deferred exchanges to real estate and tax professionals and the public
  • Research, identify and deliver profitable business opportunities with new an existing clients through customer relationships, cold calling, web referrals, presentations, trade shows and networking
  • Develop close customer relationships and thorough understanding of client need; trouble-shoot customer issues
  • Actively participate in trade, business and professional associations
  • Collaborate with other functional areas of the bank to ensure successful transactions
  • Consistently meet minimum weekly sales calling target
  • Maintain and update clients/prospects in Salesforce in a timely manner
  • Participate in sales meetings and training programs
Required Skills & Knowledge
  • Sales experience in financial/professional services sales is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 1031 Exchanges a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and maintains win-win mentality
  • Ability to navigate a fast pace culture, network within target markets, and provide comprehensive solutions for clients
  • Ability to overcome objections with knowledge of key business drivers, understanding business gaps and the competitive landscape in order to navigate the selling process effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, own and manage your sales process, identify prospects and close new business
  • Desire to consistently smash goals, quotas and/or revenue targets.
