Job Summary
The Electro-Mechanic Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment and facilities to ensure product quality, employee safety, and food safety standards, as well as regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.
* Areas of responsibilities include, but not limited to: Production lines, Prep Areas, Dry and Finish Goods Storage, Chillers, Fire and Safety Systems, Buildings and Grounds, CIP, and Bulk Chemicals.
* Supports continuous improvement & adherence to the production schedule developed by the Master Scheduler ensuring the highest levels of customer service and production efficiency by ensuring effective and efficient equipment operation and limited downtime.
Essential Job Duties
Understands and adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies. These may include but are not limited to: National Electrical Code, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Uniform Building Code (UBC) and local government environmental agency policies.
* Maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot all systems, equipment, in the facilities.
* Completes schedule Preventative Maintenance tasks as assigned.
* Perform adjustments and calibration procedures on various forms of process equipment.
* Make necessary electrical installations and/or repairs per NEC.
* Troubleshooting equipment using ladder logic and schematics.
* Use electrical test instrumentation examples: voltmeter, megger, and Ohm meter.
* Performs other maintenance tasks as assigned.
* Practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures, including but not limited to: Lock-Out - Tag-Out; Arc Flash and Hot Work Permits.
* Follows all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's) for area assigned.
* Attends classes, seminars, and in-house training as needed to maintain skill level with changes in the industry.
* Makes improvements and suggestions to optimize maintenance program.
* Executes and document planned and unplanned work findings and data during shift via computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
* Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM), inspections, corrective repairs, special projects/equipment rebuilds to return equipment to OEM specifications.
* Leverage methodologies including, but not limited to: root cause analysis (RCA), break down failure analysis (BDA) and cause maps to identify and resolve equipment issues.
* Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to identify failures and takes correct follow-up actions. Predictive maintenance technologies include ultrasound, thermal imaging, oil analysis, and vibration analysis.
* Documents the cause of the failure and works with maintenance team, planner, supervisor, or other team members to take action to prevent a reoccurrence of the failure.
* Understands and interprets technical documents and diagrams which include but are not limited to: factory manuals, blueprints, schematics, Single Line Electrical Drawings, mechanical and electrical equipment schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), and etc.
* Periodically performs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
* May be responsible for educating operations team on required equipment care concepts of autonomous maintenance (AM) including but not limited to: Cleaning, Inspection and Lubrication (CIL) and basic parts and tools usage.
* May perform other duties as required.
Scope of Responsibility
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
* Candidate must have a working knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC systems and relay logic.
* Must have proven experience and ability in electrical/mechanical and electronic troubleshooting techniques.
* Communicate/interact with all levels of employees in a professional manner. Work and function as a team member in a team-based environment.
* Good communication skills to work with plant personnel and vendors.
* High level of personal initiative, self-driven, action and results oriented.
* Demonstrated proficiency with computers and software.
* Food/beverage manufacturing environment experience.
* Allen Bradley PLC and Wonderware experience is a plus.
* Requires attention to detail. Ability to multi-task. Must be able to make good decisions under pressure.
Education / Experience
Will consider candidates with a relevant two-year degree, Electronics Certification and/or various combinations of experience/education in related fields.
Professional Licenses or Certifications
Mechanical, electrical certifications/licenses preferred but not necessary.
Valid Driver's License.
Must be Forklift certified or able to obtain forklift, aerial lifts certification.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $32.75.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
