Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Director to lead our HR operations in a dynamic mental health setting. The ideal candidate will bring strategic HR expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a trauma-informed, compliant, and inclusive workplace. This role will support our mission to provide outstanding care by driving talent management, compliance, employee wellness, and staff development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organizations goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention of staff across clinical and administrative roles.
  • Promote a trauma-informed, inclusive, and supportive work culture.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and provide support for employee wellness and engagement.
  • Lead performance management, workforce planning, and training programs.
  • Collaborate with leadership on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role, preferably within healthcare or mental health.
  • Certifications in HR, such as SHRM-SCP , SPHR , or CHHR (Certified in Healthcare Human Resources), are highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance, ideally with a CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) or related compliance certification.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles or relevant certification is a plus.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and healthcare compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on empathy and support.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and change management.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with HR software and data analytics.
