Job Overview:

Are you a creative thinker with a keen eye for detail? Do you enjoy taking complex design challenges and turning them into high-performing solutions? As a Plastics Engineer at POLYWOOD, you’ll have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology, designing and extrusion tooling for solid dimensional and foamed dimensional plastic profiles. Your expertise will directly influence the quality and efficiency of our products, making you an integral part of our success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design & Development: Create and optimize extrusion die designs using advanced CAD software, ensuring they meet both client specifications and production efficiency standards.
  • Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends by researching and implementing the latest materials and technologies in die design.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration from design to production.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and troubleshoot any design-related issues, providing innovative solutions to enhance product performance and reduce production costs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance die design processes and outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in CAD design software with Solidworks experience (with a strong understanding of extrusion processes and die design). Knowledge of CAM software.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in plastic extrusion die design and a strong mechanical background.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex design challenges.
  • Team Player: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in your work, ensuring that designs are precise, efficient, and meet all required specifications.
