Assistant Professor in Landscape Architecture
The Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning (LARCP) in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign) at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, is seeking qualified candidates to teach design studios and courses in the department related to socio-ecological systems as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We're specifically seeking candidates with expertise in GIS, GeoDesign, and spatial analysis.
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver creative and effective teaching in courses related to socio-ecological systems and GIS.
- Engage in significant, peer-reviewed research, scholarship, and/or creative activities.
- Supervise independent graduate research.
- Participate in university and professional service.
- Contribute to an environment that fosters diversity and collegiality.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Master’s degree in landscape architecture or a closely allied field. Candidate must have at least one degree in landscape architecture.
- Evidence of ability to deliver inspired teaching.
- Evidence of or potential for research, scholarship, and/or creative activity with a focused agenda.
- Professional, pedagogical, or scholarly experience in socio-ecological systems and GIS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. (or ABD) in landscape architecture or closely allied field.
- Professional licensure.
- Ability to work with a wide range of student interests and academic levels.
- Ability to help students develop career-ready professional skills.
- Ability to teach studios, seminars, and lecture classes.
