Salary:

Minimum Salary - 240,000.00

Maximum Salary - 300,000.00

The Role:

Lead the design, implementation, marketing, and regulatory/compliance needs for Aspen’s enterprise risk management program offering for dentists’ professional liability and property/practice locations. Our Aspen Values are expected to be reflected in the delivery and performance of every role.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop the strategy and program offering for the implementation and communication/marketing of an ADA and/or alternative certification compliant dental risk management and property offerings.
  • Contributes to functional strategy development and prioritises operational deliverables and activities of team to support delivery of overall business targets.
  • Manages tactical plan and provides support to others to achieve positive results for the business in line with strategy.
  • Develop and implement the program’s framework (from risk identification, to developing systems and protocols to reduce the likelihood that one of those possible risks will become a reality), services, processes, procedures, vendor management, and regulatory compliance with effective controls and management.
  • Ensure program complies with ADA to include, but not limited to, the doctor-patient relationship (DPR), informed consent and documentation otherwise referred to as “triad of concerns” to avoid perceived or potential problems in the practice of dentistry, understanding the issues, communicating appropriately when entering into a doctor-patient relationships, following the concepts of informed consent and documentation and properly applying them to prevent dental malpractice litigation, emergency action and disaster recovery plans, computer hacking and security breaches, and business continuity planning.
  • Work with key stakeholders/business managers to market program through various channels (in-person discussions/speaker at conferences, podcasts, thought leadership communications, etc.) to attract and retain customers and increase profitability.
  • Assure a consistent and effective selection, qualification, and monitoring of service providers.
  • Manage the development and delivery of risk management program training modules and supporting communications/reference materials.
  • Provide risk evaluation support to underwriters including individual risk consultation, class of business/exposure evaluation, research articles and technical support information for emerging issues analysis.
  • Assure compliance with all regulations in states that mandate risk management/loss control services.
  • Collate reporting/MI for use in regular reporting.
  • Conduct quarterly and/or annual policyholder reviews for risk assessments and needs for those business divisions requiring such assistance.
  • Prepare materials for annual reports and scheduled state audits.
  • Identify and evaluate potential improvements to maximize the program, including the use of technology.
  • Manage and support specific operational team(s) within own function / department or specialism to ensure that people, resources and processes are aligned with business needs and fit for purpose.
  • Manage, resource, motivate, develop and focus the team(s) to ensure the required standards of performance and support the continuing personal and professional development of all team members.
  • Manage appointment, dismissal, performance management and reward of the team(s) to effectively manage resources within the function.
  • Establish clear accountabilities and authority levels for direct reports and build a strong culture of accountability and performance in order to ensure delivery of goals.

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 15 years of practice in Dentistry in good standing.
  • Experience developing and maintain a compliant risk management program.
  • Experience of successfully supporting technical and operational strategy.
  • Member of the American Dental Association, ADA advocacy or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and people management skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines.
  • Ability to plan effectively and efficiently.
