Global Furniture Group, a leader in the workplace, education, healthcare + hospitality furniture industry has an immediate career opportunity at our Marlton, NJ corporate office. This candidate will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. The human resources generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities and will help with important functions such as training and development, performance manager, employee relations, EEO, D&I, and affirmative action initiatives, and assist with benefits and leave of absence.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Assists in administering employee performance programs, training and development, Affirmative Action and EEO programs.
  • Be the primary backup to Sr. Benefits Specialist with benefits, worker's compensation and leave programs.
  • Develops and implements employee recognition programs.
  • Recommends, designs, develops, and implements innovative learning and development programs that support the full employment lifecycle, including onboarding, career development, succession planning, management, and leadership development. Program development and delivery facilitated both on-line and in person.
  • Researches, develops, recommends, and executes creative strategies to foster the organization's diversity goals.
  • Develop and implement a consistent, fair, equitable approach to D&I hiring and implement recruiting and hiring strategies to attract team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Develops and/or acquires training and development to aid diversity and retention initiatives.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, and organizational chart.
  • Coordinate employee satisfaction surveys and give actionable insights to improve employees' experience.
  • Gathers, compiles, analyzes, and interprets data necessary for external (government) and internal EEO compliance, reporting, and monitoring. Data may include recruitment, hiring, terminations, promotions, disciplinary actions, salaries, applicant flows, and transfers.
  • Plans, completes, and files required EEO, VET's and/or affirmative action reports and documentation with government agencies.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
  • 2+ years implementing tactics to improve performance management.
  • Knowledge of working for a government employer with a background in Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements preferred.
  • Training and development principles, practices, methods, and procedures.
  • Speaking in public and presenting information to large and small groups.
  • Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems, ADP Workforce Now
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
