The legal department is seeking an experienced retail real estate attorney with an emphasis on acquisitions, leasing and dispositions. The position involves the drafting and negotiating legal documents associated with the ownership, management and operation of retail and mixed-use centers along with research and analysis of legal issues. The successful candidate must be a team player capable of working with a variety of individuals and disciplines with the ability to work independently on multiple projects with competing time deadlines. This person will report to the Regional General Counsel for the Region and will work with other associates including senior management, other members of the in-house legal department and outside counsel.
Requirements:
- Five plus years commercial real estate law experience, with an emphasis on retail leasing, acquisitions, and/or sales of shopping centers
- Experience in corporate matters would be helpful
- Experience with joint venture matters would be a plus
- Able to manage the efforts of outside counsel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Outlook). Experience with Conga, Salesforce, DocuSign, and document management systems is preferred.
