Junior Data Scientist

Our client, an established & growing food manufacturer, is seeking a motivated and technically proficient Junior Data Scientist to join their expanding analytics function. Focus:

• Collaborate on data-focused projects from start to finish, including data cleaning, descriptive analysis, predictive modeling, and visualization.
• Leverage Python for advanced data analysis and machine learning to develop and optimize solutions.
• Utilize SQL for data extraction and transformation, including writing efficient queries and stored procedures.
• Contribute to the creation of dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable data-driven solutions.

Skill Set:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to take real-world analytics/data science projects from inception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of Python, particularly in data analysis and machine learning frameworks.
• Experience with SQL, including advanced skills in querying databases and writing stored procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and presentation purposes.
• Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose for containerization and environment management as well as Apache Airflow and data visualization tools such as Plotly are a plus
• Experience with command-line interaction in Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques and machine learning models, including time series modeling.
• Prior experience with demand forecasting and/or pricing analytics is a plus.
