We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Vice President (VP) of Strategic Transactions position located at our Central Florida Division (CFD), Orlando, Florida.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The VP, Strategic Transactions provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational execution to drive strategic deals, transactions, and new business ventures. These may include physician deals, strategic partnerships, emerging technologies, new ventures, and destination medicine programs across Central Florida Division (CFD). This senior leadership role is responsible for developing the strategic plan for the department, including identification of business opportunities, measures of success, and execution of the plan in the form of successfully closed deals and partnerships. The VP provides oversight for all physician, partnership, and/or technology affiliation deals involving a variety of partnership models and acquisition strategies and leads the CFD Deals Team to ensure effective coordination, development, and delivery of deals. The VP leads the governance and review meetings of all transactions to appropriately engage internal stakeholders and vet opportunities. Serves as the executive liaison and representative of AdventHealth to potential partners and physicians, including various consulting and valuation teams. The VP advises and collaborates with AdventHealth stakeholders including Institutes, AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG), Market CEOs, and various other levels of leadership throughout AdventHealth, Strategy, Finance, Corporate Development, Legal, AdventHealth Physician Enterprise, Outside Counsel, and functional leads to identify, negotiate, and close deals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership in the development of business models, value propositions, organizational and structural considerations, and perform other analyses in collaboration with the Institutes, AHMG, Market CEOs, Strategy, Finance, Corporate Development, Legal, Outside Counsel, and functional leads.
- Leads the team providing coordination for the AdventHealth strategic physician growth initiatives coordinating the various work-streams.
- In collaboration with Institute strategies, inform market alignment opportunities for strategic physician growth planning and execution, business case development, access-site coordination planning (Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Physician Organization, Urgent Care, etc.), and physician specific targeting.
- In collaboration with AdventHealth strategy and business teams, develop market assessments and value propositions related to potential targets.
- Responsible for developing the strategy to engage the Physician Enterprise including physician relationship development, service line / sub-specialty specific physician alignment models and respective applications.
- Leads management of the Non-Disclosure Agreement Letter of Intent (NDA/LOI) process, including development, execution management, and tracking of all requested and outstanding documents.
- Coordination and management of AHMG and Acute Care Services/Market business cases developed to support initiatives.
- Ensures financial and operational due diligence, including overall coordination of the diligence process for affiliations and acquisitions.
- Oversees Fair Market Value “FMV” valuation process.
- Manage development, launch, ongoing relationships, and operational connections to affiliations deals for MSO and PSA Lite. Manage acquisitions and recruitment teams in support of AdventHealth CFD strategic needs.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Expert knowledge of Affiliation Agreements, MSOs, JVs and deal transaction strategies.
- Demonstrated excellent relationship management skills and ability to work well with others using tact and diplomacy.
- Strong business acumen with knowledge of hospital and provider (multi-specialty group, IPA or PHO) operations and services.
- Expertise in contracting, compliance and all Fair Market Valuation application and interpretation.
- Demonstrated excellent negotiation skills.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Masters degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
- 10+ years experience in physician relations and/or business development.
- Experience with contract delivery, legal practices, and due diligence of contracting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- ASC & Specialty physician knowledge.
- New Ventures and Startups.
