Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, or numerical computation.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience
An Associate Degree in Accounting, Accounting Technology, or Business from an accredited college or university will substitute for the required experience.
Training in a vocational-technical school or military school in Accounting, Accounting Technology, or Business will substitute for up to one year of required experience on the basis of one month of training for one month of experience.
NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Examples of Work
This position is located in the Budget Division of the Office of Management and Finance, within the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism and reports directly to the Budget Administrator 1. The Accountant Technician will function as an advanced level paraprofessional, supporting the Budget Administrator 1, assisting with the preparation of essential financial reports and providing assistance to three Budget Analysts.

Responsible for collecting, reviewing, and putting together accounting payment information for the utilities to be reviewed and signed off on by the Budget Analyst. Responsible for tracking all utility bills received, logging all utility payments, and following up on missing invoices or misapplied payments.
Monitors expenditures and revenues, informing budget staff of any inconsistencies.

Responsible for logging all approved expenditures and consulting with the appropriate accounts' payable professional for final processing.
Prepares all BA-22 forms for review and prepares reports for ACH payments ensuring the reporting is compatible to entry information.

Updates the projection templates in preparation for monthly projection requests. Enter expenditures from LaGov in preparation for indirect cost.
Responsible for compiling documentation for journal entries, budget adjustments, BA-7s and other budget documents.

Responsible for posting and journalizing entries and budget adjustments.
