Job Title: Director of Laboratory Services
Position Summary: The Director of Laboratory Services responsibilities include ultimately overseeing the planning and implementation laboratory operations and processes, ensuring accurate and timely testing, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Laboratory Services Director should ensure the smooth and efficient operation of laboratory services while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and reliability.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Below are the primary job duties and responsibilities. This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities:
Perform proactive strategic planning and implement major business initiatives to improve departmental and organizational performance
Lead, manage and allocate appropriate resources, including personnel and facilities, in a cost-efficient manner in order to achieve successful and timely completion of all projects, contracts, and department objectives
Interact with, present to, and advise clients
Ensure enforcement of GxP, ISO, FDA and other required regulatory standards
Communicate operational goals/objectives and establish annual departmental plan
Provide SME support for all internal, external and or regulatory agency audits
Networks and partners effectively with cross-functional disciplines as well as externally with client, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, as well as promote an organizational culture that supports the achievement of business objectives
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
Education and Experience
o Bachelors degree in life science discipline
o 7+ years in GMP laboratory environment experience
Skills and Abilities
o Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
o Demonstrated leadership skills, able to lead a team as well as work productively as an individual contributor.
o Critical thinking and demonstrated problem-solving / root cause investigation skills
o The ability to exercise independent administrative judgment.
o The ability to handle diverse tasks in an active office.
o Working knowledge and experience in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint preferred.
