Your Impact

We're looking for an experienced and committed data engineer to build data pipelines and metrics as part of the strategic AI initiatives for the Private Equity owned portfolio companies. In this role, you will work with CxOs within PE portfolio companies to understand business needs, translate them to technical requirements, wrangle data from various systems, and design automated data pipelines to drive insights. You will work with internal technology groups to automate the data collection and definition process.

You will have strong data architecture, ETL/ELT, SQL and a proven track record working with enterprise metrics. You will have strong operational skills to drive efficiency and speed, expertise building repeatable data engineering processes, strong project management skills, and a vision for how to deliver data products. It is important to have a strong understanding of the private equity landscape and the ability to optimally communicate Salesforce value to portfolio company CxOs and private equity operating partners.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional team members to build data metric requirements, build quick POC's, document functional and technical requirements.
  • Design & develop easy, repeatable and reusable automation data frameworks.
  • Responsible for end-to-end data management activities, including but not limited to identify fields, data lineage and integration, performing data quality checks, analysis and presenting data.
  • Evaluate, settle root cause, and resolve critical issues.
  • Collaborate with Partner System Integrators (SIs) and Engineers to support data needs, develop scalable architecture, and deploy solutions.
  • Work and collaborate with global teams across North America, EMEA and APAC.
  • Advise leaders on standard processes around data usage and product development.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-5 Years of Experience implementing/configuring Salesforce Sales Cloud, and/or Service Cloud.
  • Proficiency in foundational data warehousing concepts and data modeling; ability to recommend when to use and implement relational, document, or graph type databases.
  • Ability to interface across various technologies through APIs.
  • Experience using Snowflake and similar centralized data platforms.
  • Full proficiency of data engineering concepts, database designs, associated tools, system components, internal processes and architecture.
  • Experience working as a technical lead/solution architect in a stakeholder-focused team.
  • Experience working closely with Analytics/Data Science teams.
  • Team-first mentality; excellent interpersonal skills in order to build strong relationships that will be essential for the success in this role.
  • Must be able to proactively communicate status and identify risks.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, able to shift directions quickly when priorities change, think through problems to come up with innovative solutions and deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Must be results oriented and able to move forward without complete information and with minimal direction.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Exposure to private equity/credit, venture capital, top tier consulting, investment bank, M&A, strategy, enterprise software, or digital transformation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Bash and Python scripting.
  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams preferred.
  • Experience designing systems which incorporate data from various systems to make content recommendations and user profiles a plus.

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $165,600 to $227,700. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
