DUTIES: Develop state of art finite element (FE) models of battery module and pack systems to the finest detail. Perform advanced CAE simulations to evaluate & understand behavior and enhance performance of the battery module and pack systems under both static and dynamic conditions. Perform durability CAE including structural responses, linear & non-linear analysis, and fatigue calculation. Provide guidance to design engineers using modeling and CAE analysis, to optimize designs and meet product specifications. Support component and system testing to correlate CAE models and improve the material database and model accuracy. Perform post-test reviews and corroborate the CAE predictions to test results.
SALARY: $162,300.00 - $169,301.00 per year

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering, materials engineering, aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, or related field of study and six (6) years of experience as a Stress Engineer, Automotive Engineer, Aerospace Engineer, Energy Engineer, Project Engineer or related role where required experience gained.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Also required experience in the following:
- Software experience in CAE pre-processors, solvers, and post-processors in a product development environment.
- CAD Software such as Catia, Solidworks.
- CAE Analysis of battery modules and packs used in electric vehicles.
- Nastran, Patran, Abacus, Ansys or similar software.
- Static and Dynamic, Linear and Non-linear, impact, thermal and fastener Analysis.
- Correlation of CAE analysis with the in-house testing.
- Hand calculation of forces acting on the structural members.
- Experience working with metals, composites and plastics.
