Overall Purpose
The Head of Technology Infrastructure keeps our business running through strategic leadership, cross-functional partnership, and internal and external customer obsession. This is a mission-critical role and the leader will be responsible for server and storage management and monitoring both on-premise and in cloud, networking, security management in conjunction with the CISO team, internal helpdesk, application and desktop support (including in-office conferencing facilities and voice systems), in-office and server asset and configuration management, monitoring, maintenance, and refresh. This position is responsible for enforcing standards, compliance SLAs, and performance metrics to ensure the availability, scalability, integrity and stability of IT infrastructure and services.
Essential Functions:
- Lead a multi-disciplined, high-performance team – provide exceptional leadership in developing highly engaged, high-performance teams to deliver against departmental and company objectives.
- Be the voice of infrastructure – provide executive stewardship of the various infrastructure functions and implement multi-year strategies. Be adept at identifying and presenting enterprise opportunities to continually enhance how infrastructure can better support the business. Existing infrastructure requires constant maintenance, uplift and modernization and should not become stagnant. Be constantly reducing technical debt.
- Own the outcome – manage the various infrastructure teams to ensure the best hardware, software and testing solutions, and strategies are developed and employed, including evaluation of new vendors and testing alternatives for improved services. Lead IT asset management lifecycle to ensure that assets achieve their full lifetime value.
- Influence company strategy – guide other departments in understanding the technical solutions as necessary and helping them with defining ROI for related to proposed solutions. Evaluate industry-leading and industry-changing technologies and ensure we have the tools to adapt and adopt where it meets a need. Select technology partners and processes that maximize value and control cost and risk.
- Manage risk effectively – support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data by ensuring system and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability is maintained.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems/Computer Science.
- 15 or more years of experience managing complex infrastructure including at least 10 years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to provide oversight for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience implementing application solutions/ services in Cloud using Containerization, CI/CD, Automated testing and in compliance security guidelines.
- Track record of innovative technical and business leadership in developing modern strategic enterprise solutions that are financially responsible.
- Combination of hands-on experience and domain expertise in the following areas: application integration and architecture, security, and automation as well as working knowledge of IT operations.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and energize people showcasing technical and leadership skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups and generate results.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Must convey responsiveness and competence when dealing with internal customers, staff, peers, senior management, and vendors.
- Work experience that demonstrates a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Background and drug screen.
Physical Requirements
Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
