Position Summary

University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.

The Director of Development for University Initiatives serves as a conduit of information and strategy between the leaders of university initiatives and University Development and Alumni Relations to advance the philanthropic priorities of each program. Partner with initiative leaders to articulate funding priorities and develop gift opportunities, equipping gift officers across the division to align opportunities for support with donor goals. Serve as a conduit for the development of meaningful engagement opportunities for donor cultivation, engagement, and stewardship. Utilize project management skills to maintain a robust dataset of university initiatives, prospects, timelines, giving projections, and strategies to achieve established aims for each program.

Manage a portfolio of alumni, parents, and friends who are capable of making major gifts to university initiatives. Conduct a minimum of 75 engagements and/or meetings in person or virtually for the purpose of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, with progressively ambitious fundraising goals. This position may involve occasional travel as University policy allows and is reasonably justified towards building relationships and developing philanthropy. Serve as a partner in developing strategies for ultra-high-net-worth University-wide prospects by sharing options for transformative gifts to university initiatives and other priorities. Track UDAR's principal gift activity related to University-wide initiatives and support senior leadership of UDAR with moves management.

UDAR encourages work-life integration for our employees, therefore this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
