Position Summary

City Ventures is seeking an organized and motivated Vice President of Purchasing to join the Team. If you love to work collaboratively, have great communications skills and are extremely organized, this may be the job for you. The Vice President of Purchasing manages the Purchasing operation for the Division by creating and managing bids, coordinating, and writing specifications and scopes of work for all vertical construction. Prepares and manages all budgets for vertical construction.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree is preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years purchasing experience in the homebuilding business.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Ability to read plans
  • Submit RFPs
  • Qualify bids
  • Value engineer plans and scopes of work
  • Monitor, track budgets and projected final budgets
  • Review and process change orders
  • Assist the field with trade or contract and plan issues
  • Conduct site walks and/or frame walks
  • Track project status to ensure timely issuance of Subcontract Agreements

Skills Needed:

  • Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
  • Team-oriented, shows ownership of assigned tasks; works well independently and with a team
  • Good organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time and meet deadlines
  • Great Customer Service demeanor
  • Thorough understanding of construction drawings and contracts
  • Excellent negotiating skills and a strong belief in fair business practices
  • Well-developed computer skills

Compensation: Salary ranges from $160,000 - $175,000 per year plus mileage reimbursement for travel during the workday (not commute) and Discretionary Bonus.

Medical, dental, vision and supplemental insurance are available. In addition, City Ventures offers FSA plans and a 401K with a 6% match. Three weeks (15 business days) PTO (Paid Time Off), Gym membership reimbursement of $40 per month, $85 cellphone reimbursement.
