Asthma Waikato is a small non-profit organisation with a big heart and we’re on the lookout for a new General Manager.

Our vision is to see a better educated Waikato where nobody worries about their breathing, kids are kept out of hospital, in school and able to keep up with their peers.

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of Asthma Waikato and ensuring we meet our strategic goals. This is an exciting role with a wide scope for innovation and we require a strategic thinker to take the organisation to the next level.

Key duties of the role include:

  • Managing the service delivery plan for Asthma Waikato, including oversight of education and service support programmes.
  • Growing our community networks and increasing our connections with funders.
  • Supporting the development of strategy that helps us better meet the needs of Māori and Pacific populations across Waikato.

The person we are looking for will have:

  • Management experience in the Health, Social, Education or Community sectors.
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation.
  • A passion for improving health outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples.
  • An eye for detail and experience in project management.
  • Sound knowledge to manage finances and budgets.

The position is part-time up to 30 hours per week and for the right candidate we offer flexible hours, a vehicle and salary in the range of $65,000-$75,000 pro-rata.
