Job Title: Design EngineerJob DescriptionAs a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for handling new tooling designs and tooling modifications for foam molding components using SolidWorks. You will serve as the lead for all design-related questions and concerns, ensuring that the designs meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Our client, an automotive supplier, is seeking to bring design expertise from their Japanese headquarters to the US.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and modify tooling designs for foam molding components using SolidWorks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.Lead and address design-related questions and concerns from internal and external stakeholders.Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and customer requirements.Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to improve design processes.Essential Skills3+ years of experience designing tooling for new components.Hands-on experience utilizing SolidWorks for design.Experience designing tooling for automotive components.Project management and launch program experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with foam molding; injection mold and/or blow mold experience is also considered.Experience with CATIA software is a plus.Experience designing tooling for end customers of major automotive manufacturers like GM, Ford, or Stellantis.Work EnvironmentThe position is remote, but candidates must be open to coming onsite once per month.
