As a Cruise Director, you will play an essential part in leading the daily onboard operation and execution of the entertainment product and services for Disney Cruise Line. You are a member of the ship Steering Committee and serve as the "General Manager" for onboard Entertainment, providing oversight for all Entertainment content including but not limited to stage shows, deck parties, port adventures, and recreation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with internal and external partners to define a clear vision for onboard Entertainment.
  2. Translate and integrate the vision into strategic operating plans focused on innovation and continuous process improvements.
  3. Drive enhanced Guest and Crew experiences.
  4. Direct all Guest events and onboard entertainment.
  5. Ensure daily schedule of events onboard and ashore proceeds as scheduled.
  6. Evaluate show quality and brand integrity.
  7. Communicate safety and guest information.
  8. Oversee execution and daily delivery of Guest service.
  9. Develop a world-class onboard Entertainment Operations team.
  10. Support and champion safety initiatives.
  11. Oversee and manage financial profit and operating expenses.
  12. Partner with shore side Entertainment/Port Adventures Operations Leadership.
  13. Provide support for new itineraries.
  14. Partner with Human Resources on managing personnel files.
  15. Partner with Marketing/Promotions to plan special events.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Minimum eight years’ experience in a hosting role, stage experience, and public speaking skills.
  2. Minimum of eight years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
  3. Previous ship operations experience as Cruise Director or similar.
  4. Operational experience with an understanding of Crew/Entertainer challenges.
  5. Leadership experience including coaching and mentoring skills.
  6. Experience integrating the Entertainment experience across multiple lines of business.
  7. Solid knowledge of Entertainment Operations business procedures.
  8. Passion for character and show integrity supporting the Disney Brand.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Demonstrated problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
  11. Preferred college degree or related training in recreation, education, entertainment, or related field.

  4. Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide documents).
  5. Complete a pre-employment medical.
  6. Obtain a criminal background check.
  7. Bring approved work shoes.
