Responsibilities:

Maintaining Customer Relationships

  • Cultivate and nurture strong, long-term relationships with existing key accounts
  • Serve as the main point of contact for key clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and requests promptly and effectively

Understanding Customer Needs

  • Conduct regular assessments to understand the evolving needs and goals of key customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that products or services align with the client's requirements

Customer Support and Issue Resolution

  • Provide excellent customer support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution of problems to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to address customer concerns and improve overall service quality

Identifying Business Opportunities

  • Actively seek new business opportunities within existing key accounts, exploring avenues for upselling or cross-selling
  • Promote all company products and services for imports and exports to increase sales
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify potential areas for business expansion

Strategic Account Planning

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to maximize customer retention and growth
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align business strategies with the goals of key accounts
  • Direct, coordinate, and review sales activities including creation and execution of a yearly sales plan

Negotiation and Contract Renewals

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreements
  • Facilitate the renewal of contracts and agreements, aiming for long-term partnerships

Market Analysis and Research

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and customer behavior
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of competitors

Communication and Reporting

  • Keep clients informed about relevant updates, new offerings, and industry insights
  • Prepare and present regular reports to management on key account performance and opportunities

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, pricing and legal, to align strategies and deliver comprehensive solutions to clients

Meeting Sales Targets

  • Set and achieve sales targets for both revenue growth and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and report on progress toward sales goals, making adjustments to strategies as needed
  • Ensure execution of developed sales strategies, objectives, and goals

By fulfilling these responsibilities, a Logistics Sales contributes to the overall success of the organization by retaining existing customers, fostering loyalty, and uncovering new business opportunities.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required in a business-related field
  • 7+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, warehouse operations with supply chain knowledge and/or relevant logistics sales experience required
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the domestic and international transportation industry (trucking, rail, air and ocean modes)
  • Ability to build trustworthy relationships with customers at all levels (C Level, Managers, Staff)
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Team Player
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Bilingual in Japanese preferred
  • Experience working with Japanese companies preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 30% U.S., Canada, and Mexico

Pay range is $85,000-$110,000 with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
