Job SummaryAs Controller for Restaurant Associate at JPMorgan Chase's new global HQ at 270 Park, the successful candidate should possess savvy business skills and be a highly motivated professional with a proven ability to establish excellent working relationships with various team members.
The Regional Controller is a results-oriented finance role that reports directly to the Director of Finance with a dotted line responsibility to the General Manager. You will work closely with Operations and Sales, analyzing and driving results to achieve annual key performance indicators. This role serves as a financial advisor and business partner to their operational counterparts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop forecasts and budgets for region and assist with presentations to Sr Management
- Oversee the monthly close process ensuring sales, inventory, and other activity has been appropriately recorded
- Analyze financial results of region tracking weekly performance against budget and forecast
- Work closely with operations to prepare action plans to resolve financial issues
- Present financial data to clients as a part of the Quarterly Business Reviews
- Assist in client communications in coordination with the RVP and GM
- Track DSO for region and work with operators to ensure timely collection of receivables
- Perform reconciliation and analysis for key balance sheet accounts
- Ensure timely resolution of accounting/reconciliation issues by working closely with Field Accounting team
- Responsible for all billing, cash handling, cost control, and inventory procedures
- Conduct Internal Control Reviews at each unit within region annually and ensure audit report recommendations are implemented promptly
- Ensure that assets are setup properly with Field Accounting and Capital Assets departments
- Financial reports: monthly, quarterly and annual reports, including but not limited to monthly and fiscal close, internal and external audit reporting, report preparation and distribution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience with revenue control, financial reporting and cash handling responsibilities, at least 3 years in a similar capacity
- Accounting experience in foodservice or retail industry required, foodservice operations experience a plus
- Experience with sales analysis and reporting
- Adept at planning, organizing and controlling complex processes as well as analyzing moderately complex financial information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships
- Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office with a concentration in Excel. POS experience a plus
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
