Position Overview:
Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, and for employees, visitors, and special events. Performs a wide variety of tasks. Follow standard practices and complies with regulatory requirements.
Job Description :
Plans and coordinates cooking schedules so that foods will be ready at required times for patients, cafeteria and special events.
Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe.
Ensures that all cooking equipment and utensils are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation.
Ensures that required sanitary levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process.
Ensures that all foods prepared meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste and appearance.
Serve on tray assembly line in assigned position.
Participates in hospital wide and departmental quality improvement.
Assists with catering services.
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Other: Basic food and nutrition courses
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
2 years basic food-production experience as typically acquired in a similar environment.
2-4 years cooking experience

Pay Range is $30.70 to $34.35 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
