Job Summary
The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities and programs for residents in a senior care environment. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents by promoting social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation. The Activities Director will work closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure that all activities are tailored to meet the diverse needs of the community, including those in memory care and assisted living settings.

Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that promotes resident engagement and well-being.
  • Schedule and coordinate daily activities, ensuring a balanced mix of physical, social, and recreational opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and their families to understand their interests and preferences.
  • Supervise and train staff or volunteers involved in activity planning and execution.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through resident feedback and participation levels.
  • Maintain records of participation in activities and report on outcomes as needed.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with safety regulations and best practices in senior care.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate activities into the overall care plan for residents.

Requirements

  • Experience in senior care settings such as assisted living, long-term care, or memory care is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and how they relate to resident engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
  • Proven ability in schedule management to coordinate various activities simultaneously.
  • A background in caregiving or home community care is a plus.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for developing innovative programs that cater to diverse resident needs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.44 - $19.53 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
