Job Function
Design functional solutions on Oracle Utilities Customer to Meter (C2M), Meter Data Management (MDM), Customer Care & Billing. Multi-product implementations - working directly with business partners and leading large transformations.
Solutions Architecture Designs and develops IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Researches and develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.

Key Responsibilities
Conformance Review (CORE) Plans formal reviews of activities, processes, products or services. Evaluates and independently appraises the internal control of automated business processes based on investigative evidence and assessments undertaken by self or team. Ensures that independent appraisals follow agreed procedure and advises others on the review process. Provides advice to management on ways of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of their control mechanisms. Identifies and evaluates associated risks and how they can be reduced.
User Experience Evaluation (USEV) Advises on achievement of usability (including health and safety and accessibility) of specific visual design approaches and their suitability for different audiences. Advises on what to evaluate and type of evaluation. Manages evaluation of systems, products or services to assure that the stakeholder and organizational requirements have been met, required practice has been followed and systems in use continue to meet organizational and user needs. Evaluates design aspects of web tenders and proposals, including wireframes and mock-ups. Ensures that the results of evaluations are understood by system developers. Influences design teams to take action on the findings of usability tests.
Solution Architecture (ARCH) Uses appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas. Produces detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products. Within a business change program, assists in the preparation of technical plans and cooperates with business assurance and project staff to ensure that appropriate technical resources are made available. Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.
Systems Design (DESN) Specifies and designs large or complex systems. Selects appropriate design standards, methods and tools consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively. Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology. Contributes to policy for selection of architecture components. Evaluates and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks. Ensures that the system design balances functional, service quality, security and systems management requirements.
Emerging Technology Monitoring (EMRG) Monitors the market to gain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging technologies. Identifies new and emerging hardware and software technologies and products based on own area of expertise, assesses their relevance and potential value to the organization and contributes to briefings of staff and management.
Consultancy (CNSL) Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates with and facilitates stakeholder groups as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.
Work Experience: 10 - 15 years
- Should conduct workshop with the business and relevant stakeholders to design functional architecture for various modules in C2M such as new connection, disconnection, metering, MDM, Billing, rates and payments.
- Deep understanding of rates in C2M, including usage management and billing.
- Bring domain knowledge of utilities, understand the business requirements, convert it into blueprint and work with developers to get it converted into meaningful codes.
- Work with testing team to write both business use cases and scenarios to execute as per the requirements.
- Own the definition, design, and delivery of a functional design.
- Build an in-depth understanding of the client’s current and future business and the relationship of interdependent project work streams.
- Develop and maintain the necessary plans for workshops, business process definition, configuration, testing and training support - including key tasks, milestones, and deliverables – aligned with delivering the overall solution.
- Drive execution of planned activities to ensure solutioning is delivered on-time and in line with interdependent project workstreams.
- Facilitate conversations with the client to gather and provide recommendations on target business requirements in line with Oracle utilities product (CC&B) capabilities and the functional roadmap.
- Map stated client requirements to standard C2M/CC&B business processes (URMs and other formats) forming the basis of subsequent process-based discussions.
- Coordinate delivery of functional requirements and designs and timely receipt of complete and accurate work products from the offshore development team.
- Implement End to end integration of Oracle utilities solution with multiple utilities products such as ERP, GIS, AMI, Salesforce, Self Service etc.
Education/Experience/Certifications
Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering management or equivalent work experience in related discipline.
Experience: Typically eight or more years in related field.
Certifications, Licenses and Training: TOGAF, ITIL, ARCHIMATE certification preferred.

Additional Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Utilities Customer to Meter, Meter data Management, Customer Care and Billing (CC&B).
- Strong utilities domain knowledge in US electric market; 10+ years of overall relevant experience in Oracle Utilities, including five years in consulting or services.
- In-depth knowledge of meter-to-cash, billing, payments, credit & collection, rates, new connection, Move In/ Move Out, smart metering.
- C2M/MDM/CC&B lead architect experience in at least three utilities implementations.
- Designer or architect experience with the Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF).
- Successful full lifecycle implementation experience.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Cloud-based system delivery.
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a closely related technical field.

Compensation Range: $113,925.00 - $189,875.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
